This was a fun challenge for me. I got to learn quite a few things with this challenge. I learned how to use the HumanIK rig, and paint skin weights. I learned about Maya fluid dynamics, and creating various forms of fire and smoke, as well as how to direct them with axis volume fields. I also learned how to crack and explode geometry.
For my final renders the only post processing was using blend layers on my various AOV passes, a few adjustment layers, and some blur.
